Account Information

• Age confirmation (18+)
• Profile information (bio, interests, photos)

Location Data

• Real-time location: With your permission, we collect your precise location to show you on the map to nearby users with shared interests
• Background location: When you grant "Allow all the time" permission, the app continues tracking your location even when not in the foreground. This enables:
  • Other users to see you on the map while you use other apps
  • Auto-ghost mode to automatically stop sharing your location after you move 100 meters while backgrounded
  • Proximity notifications when users with shared interests are nearby
• Foreground service notification: When background tracking is active, a persistent notification ("The Craic is tracking your location") is displayed
• Last active location: Your location when you last had the app open is stored to enable notifications even when the app is closed

How You Control Location Sharing

• Ghost Mode: Toggle this ON in the app to immediately stop sharing your location with others
• Auto-Ghost Mode: When enabled (default ON), automatically stops location sharing after 100m of movement while backgrounded or when you close the app
• Device permissions: You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings

• Connection and messaging activity

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide location-based matching services
• To display your profile to nearby users based on preferences
• To enable connections and messaging
• To send notifications about matches and connections
• To enforce our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:

• With other users: Your profile information and approximate location are visible to nearby users based on your preference settings
• With service providers: For hosting, analytics, and app functionality
• For legal compliance: When required by law or to protect safety
• With law enforcement: We cooperate with authorities investigating illegal activity, including child exploitation

4. Law Enforcement Cooperation

The Craic cooperates fully with law enforcement agencies in investigations related to:

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
• Child exploitation and abuse (CSAE)
• Threats of violence or harm
• Other illegal activity

We report suspected CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by law.

5. Data Retention

• Active accounts: Data retained while account is active
• Deleted accounts: User data deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal purposes
• Report data: Retained as necessary for investigations and legal compliance
